Eater DC featured Alfreda’s collaboration pop-up at Tonari in its summer pop-ups roundup: on August 26, 2025, chef Russell Blue Smith and Amparo Fondita’s Christian Irabien Gamboa joined Tonari’s Katsuya Fukushima for a Mexican, Italian, and Japanese crossover dinner, each putting their own spin on Tonari’s thick Detroit-style pizzas alongside new dishes and cocktails.
